My art centres around the basic elements of design, colour, shape + type. The classic principles of design used in my work are informed by my  training as a graphic designer, but the complexity and depth weaved within the pieces are rooted in my personal experiences. 

I never give myself a strict vision of what a piece will be and I don’t choose colours before I start, I love discovering where the paint will unexpectedly take me. Colours can complement + contrast each other and I’m especially fascinated by the emotions that unconventional combinations can evoke. 

I mainly work with acrylic paint, paint markers & spray paint applied to canvas with artists tools, common household gadgets or my fingers. After applying layers on a blank canvas the work tends to reveal itself to me. 

My goal is that my paintings engage every viewer in conversation & inspire them to find their own personal connection within the layers.
